Final report on General Transport Master Plan to be presented on June 30
A final report on Romania's General Transport Master Plan will be presented at a Government meeting on June 30, Transport Minister Dan Sova said Tuesday after meeting a delegation of the European Commission's DG Regio directorate headed by Director General Walter Deffa.
'We are aiming to provide a master plan that will meet the quality parameters and become a reference for the development of the transport sector in the next two decades. The final report on the General Transport Master Plan will be presented on June 30 at the Government's meeting. The strategic environmental evaluation is conducted at the same time with the drawing up of the master plan. According to the schedule, the environmental permit for the master plan will be issued on August 20, 2014, when the final environmental report will be out as well,' Sova is quoted as saying in a press release issued by the Transport Ministry on Tuesday.
Talks with the DG Regio delegation focused on the stages and absorption of projects under operational programme transport and the master plan.
Sova introduced to the European officials a calendar for the drawing up of the master plan, which is currently at a final stage following European Commission's methodology.
