Eurostat: Romania, second in EU in point of drop in retail trade in February

The volume of the retail trade dropped 4.8 percent in Romania in February 2011 from February 2010, a higher drop being only registered in Spain (minus 5.6 percent), according to the preliminary data supplied on Tuesday by the European office of statistics Eurostat. Year in, year out, retail trade increased by 0.1 percent in the eurozone, while in the EU there was a 0.9 percent growth. Retail trade dropped in eight member states, Romania included, and went up in 13 member states. ...
