Dacia established new commercial record with sales of over 584,000 vehicles in 2016
Last year, Dacia sold 584,219 units, 6% more compared to the level reached in 2015, reaching a new commercial record. At international level, Dacia sales exceeded 545,000 units, according to data sent on Tuesday by the automobile manufacturer.
Dacia maintains a leading position in the Romanian market with 38,861 vehicles sold, 5.2% more than in 2015, according to company estimates.
The offer was renewed in 2016 by launching new models - Sandero, Sandero Stepway, Logan and Logan MCV.
With over 15,200 units sold, which means about 40% of overall sales, Logan remains the basis of Dacia in Romania.
Duster ranks second in top, with over 7,300 units sold. The SUV has a limited series called Duster Black Touch.
Sandero dominates the B-hatch segment with 7,100 units, ranking third in the top of models.
Lodgy and Dokker models had raising sales in 2016, backed mostly by the success of Stepway versions.
Over 545,000 cars were sold abroad, 6% more compared to 2015. About three quarters of cars sold by Dacia in 2016 are registered in European countries.
France is the first export destination for Dacia, with over 112,000 units, which represents the best performance until now. The market share is 4.62%, placing it 5th in the top of best sold cars in France, immediately after Volkswagen.
Spain ranks second, with sales of 54,543 units and a market share of 4.13%.
Italy ranks third, with over 52,000 units, followed by Germany, where 51,000 Dacia cars were sold last year. In Great Britain, Dacia sold 26,562 units last year, placing UK 7th in the classification of foreign markets.
