Cars: Statistics: Jan - Aug 2018 trade turnover in motor vehicles, motorcycles up 8.4 pct YoY
The turnover of wholesale and retail trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles over January - August 2018 was 8.4 percent higher YoY expressed as raw series and 9.5 pct up from the similar period of 2017 expressed as workday and seasonally adjusted series, shows data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) released on Thursday.
In the same period, the turnover for market services provided to the population was up expressed both as raw series and as workday and seasonally adjusted series by 5.2 pct and 4.8 pct, respectively.
Expressed as raw series, the turnover for wholesale and retail trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles, the maintenance and repair thereof advanced as an effect of the increase in trade of motorcycles, components and accessories, the maintenance and repair of motorcycles (+29.2 pct), trade in motor vehicles (+16.8 pct), and trade in components and accessories (+2.6 pct). The maintenance and repair of motor vehicles dropped 11 pct.
The turnover for market services provided to the population expressed as raw series was up as a result of growth in the activity of travel agencies and tour operators (+7.5 pct), hairdressing services and other cosmetic activities (+6.9 pct), the HoReCA industry (+4.9 pct), gambling and other recreational activities (+4.2 pct). Washing, cleaning and dyeing of textiles and furs registered a drop of 0.7 pct.
