Cars: Sales of Dacia passenger cars up 7 pct in August, in Europe
Sales of Dacia passenger cars increased by 7.1 per cent in August, in Europe, with this car manufacturer's market share climbing up to 4.4 per cent from 3.7 per cent in the same period last year, according to statistical data published on Wednesday by the European Automobile Manufacturer's Association (ACEA).
The data are valid for the European Union and the Free Trade European Association (EFTA) countries, namely Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
Registrations of Dacia cars accounted for 46,968 units last month in Europe, which is more than the figure recorded in the same period last year (43,852 cars).
Deliveries of Dacia cars saw a growth of 10 per cent in Europe, over the first eight months of the year, with the market share of this manufacturer climbing from 3.8 per cent from 3.4 per cent in the same period in 2018. Registrations of Dacia cars accounted for 412,669 units, which is more than the figure recorded in the January-August interval of 2018 (325,014 cars).
The Dacia Company was taken over by Renault in 1999. Relaunched in 2004 with the Logan model, Dacia became an important player on the European car market.
