Cars: Car market on the rise by 24.1% in 11 months. Drops of national car industry by 3.5%

 The car market in Romania recorded a 24.1% growth in the first 11 months of 2014, compared to the same period of 2013, while the national car manufacture dropped to 363,905 vehicles, according to APIA association.

 

The national car manufacture dropped by 3.5% in the mentioned period of time, most cars being made by Dacia - 314,719 units. In the first 11 months Ford made 49,178 units in Romania (13.5%) and Roman Brasov 5 units.

 

Dacia Duster registered the highest volumes (160,769 units of which 18,303 in November), followed by Dacia Logan (73,652 units, of which 4,885 units in November), Ford B-MAX (49,178 units of which 3,302 in November) Dacia Sandero (42,006 units) and Dacia Logan MCV (38,292 units).

On the overall 2014 became the first year of increase in the auto market after 6 years on a row of drops. At European level there is a positive evolution, the main countries registering increases which consolidate a growing trend after 11 months: France (+1.1%), Germany (+2.6%), Italy (+4.3%), Spain (+18.1%), UK (+9.4%).

 

At national level the auto market recorded a growth of 24.1% in the first 11 months of 2014, while the national car manufacture dropped to 363,905 units. Overall vehicle deliveries recorded an advance of 24.1% compared to the previous year, of which 23.4% are cars.

 

As for exports, Dacia Duster is in the top with 152,352 units, followed by Logan with 62,253 units and Ford B-MAX with 48,979 units. 9,396 vehicles were exported in November, 7,695 of which were cars, 14.5% more than in the previous year.

 

Dacia cars are in the top with 25,168 units sold (32.9% of total), followed by Volkswagen (7,997 units, 10.5%), Skoda (7,272 units 9.5%), Renault (5,299 units, 6.9%), Ford (5,226 units, 6.9%) and Opel (3,363 units, 4.4%).

 

Dacia Duster is the best sold model in November, followed by Dacia Logan , Dacia Sandero, Ford Fiesta and Skoda Octavia.For the type of fuel, diesel engines represent 55.7%, on the rise from 2013 when it was 53.3%. APIA estimates for 2014 show a volume of 100,000 vehicles sold at national level.
