Agriculture: RNP-Romsilva : the volume of illegally felled timber from the state owned woods dropped with over 16% in 2016
The volume of illegal timber felling from the state owned woods administered by the National Department of Forests (RNP) – Romsilva dropped in 2016 with 16.27% against the previous year down to 47,788 cubic metres, announced RNP in a press release.
Comparative data show that in 2015 the volume of illegally felled timber from the woods administered by RNP Romsilva was of 57,080 cubic metres.
According to the quoted source, at total volume exploited by Romsilva of 8.58 million cubic metres timber, the illegal felling in the state owned forests is 0.5%.
As for checkings, in 2016, in the stock of wood there were 14,825 complete checkings and 1,642 partial ones.
Last year, there were 1,214 silvan crime, 1,150 out ofwhich being under investigation, 22 employees of RNP being victims of aggression during their duty, the quoted source says.
