Agriculture : Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, WB forge partnership

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development forged a partnership with the World Bank (WB) for four projects, worth over 3.5 million euros (17.842 million lei, 1 euro = 4.52 lei).

'Today's meeting (Monday - editor's note) meant the launch of four projects important for Romania. The projects are technically backed by the World Bank and financed through EU funds, the Operational Programme Development of Administrative Capability. One of the projects targets strategies aimed at turning Romania's agri-food potential to good account, and has a funding of over 5 million lei. The second entitled Strategic Planning for Agri-food Administration has a value exceeding 4.8 million lei, the value of the third named Implementation of Internal Managerial System at the Agriculture Ministry and Subordinated Structures amounts to over 3.7 million lei, while the fourth project Establishment and Implementation of Integrated Financial Management Information System at the Agriculture Ministry has a value of over 4.1 million lei,' Agriculture Minister Daniel Constantin said.

According to him, this is not a fresh loan from the WB.

'The World Bank represents the partner who supports these project from the technical point of view. The implementation period lasts 24 months starting now,' Constantin also said.
