Agriculture: European Commission: 266 million euro to improve rural cadastre in Romania
About 266 million euro from the European Fund for Regional Development will be invested to extend the cadastre area, the system of recording land in rural areas in Romania. The project is meant to improve the legal frame and transparency of right to property, the European Commission informs.
EU funds will be used to make a systematic recording in rural areas, to digitalize and classify existing archives, to instruct personnel, to develop the use of information technology and communications in the field of services and to improve project monitoring and administration.
More than a quarter of properties in Romania are now registered in the financial registrar. The project covers 660 administrative units in seven rural areas of Romania: this project financed by EU will help register lands in Romania, the press release shows.
