Agriculture : AgriMin: Romania produces enough to cover domestic consumption, it has sufficient raw material stocks
Romania produces enough to cover domestic consumption and has the capacity to support itself in terms of food, and there are currently enough stocks of raw materials, announced the Minister of Agriculture, Adrian Chesnoiu, after the meeting with the representatives of the processors in the milling-bakery industry and with those of the traders and distributors on the grain market.
"In the Ministry of Agriculture we constantly monitor stocks, both at the level of grain traders and suppliers, as well as at the level of the milling and bakery industry. Reports of grain stocks in authorized warehouses and marketing areas are also drawn up on a daily basis in order to be prepared to take appropriate action. Up-to-date data show that stocks of raw materials are sufficient, so Romanians do not have to worry about this. Romania produces enough to cover domestic consumption and has the capacity to support itself in terms of food," said Adrian Chesnoiu.
According to a press release of the relevant ministry, sent on last Wednesday, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) had on Tuesday, at the institution's headquarters, a working meeting with the representatives of the Romanian Association of Agricultural Product Traders (ARCPA) and with those of the Romanian Employers' Association from the Milling, Bakery and Flour Products Industry - ROMPAN.
The talks took place in the context of the action of grain stock monitoring by the Ministry of Agriculture, started as a result of the changes on the international market after the launch of the Russian military aggression against Ukraine.
