Wind energy ensured 20% of the electricity consumption in Romania, fourth place in Europe
The wind energy ensured on Friday 20% of the electricity consumption, which places Romania on the fourth place in Europe, after Denmark (81% of consumption), Germany (37%) and Austria (23% of the consumption).
According to the data provided by the association Wind Europe, the wind energy ensured 19% of the consumption of Portugal (fifth), followed by Sweden (15%), the Netherlands (11%), Spain (10%) and Cyprus (10%).
The top of the quantity of energy produced is led by Germany , 550GWh, followed by Italy (99GWh) and Denmark (83GWh). Romania does not get into this top.
On the whole continent, wind energy ensured on Friday 12.5% of the electricity demand (1,099 GWh) of terrestrial generators and 155 GWh of offshore generators).
At the time the news was broadcast (Saturday 10:00) wind energy ensured 5% of the electricity production of Romania with almost 330 MW. The total production was 6,669 MW and the consumption of 7,718 MW with import of 1,049 MW.
