The total of investments in the sector of electricity for 2019 – 2020 is estimated at almost 14 billion euro
The total of necessary investment in the sector of electricity for the period 2019 – 2020 is almost 14 billion euro for electricity network being estimated investments of approximately 500 million euro annually until 2030, according to the project ‘ Energy strategy of Romania 2019 – 2020 with the perspective of 2050’ published by the ministry of energy.
The costs for electricity networks include projects for interconnection, development of the network included in the Plan of development of Transelectrica for 2016-2025 and its continuation until 2030, as well as the estimated level of investment in distribution networks. The investments include equipment and technologies which make the transition to ‘ smart network’ with bidirectional communication, with efficient management and higher flexibility in operation.
The most important objectives for investment in the sector of production and transport of electricity are the finalization of groups 3 and 4 in CNE Cernavoda; a new energy group of 600 MW in Rovinari; the Hydro-energy unit in Tarnita-Lapustesti; new energy group of 400 MW in Turceni; the hydro-electrical unit în Turnu Magurele – Nicopole, 500 MW; the new energy group 200 MW CCGT – Craiova II on gas with flexible operation including storage of energy resource in the underground warehouse Ghercesti; new energy group 400 MW CCGT on gas with flexible operation – Mintia; hydro-electrical unit Rastolnita; hydro-electrical units on Jiu river – 90 MW; hydro-electrical units on Olt river- 145 MW.
According to the project Energy Strategy, an analysis of all expenses of capital included in the domain of transport of electricity, gas transport, storage, oil feeding interconnections, carbon networks and possible facilities ‘ power-to-gas-grid injections’ show a total expense of 220 billion euro between 2012- 2030 in the EU 28 area. This is added to the infrastructure investments worth 67 billion euro which are expected to be put into execution until 2020.
The minister of energy announced on Friday the publication of the strategy draft, the finalization
of the environment report and the study for the adequate evaluation, public debate of the documents taking place on 15 October.
