The project of the gas pipeline Sighetu Marmatiei – Viseu de Sus – Borsa acknowledged of national importance

The investment project ‘Gas transport pipeline on the direction Sighetu Marmatiei – Viseu de Sus –Borsa’ was considered as project of national importance in the domain of natural gas. The government decision was approved in the meeting on Wednesday, informed the ministry of economy.

The acknowledgement of the draft for investments of national importance in the domain of natural gas will generate the creation of new work places during the construction, as well as the creation of the possibility for supplementary gains for the inhabitants of the area by drawing new investments. Similarly, it will have a positive impact on the activity of local services suppliers (for example tourist units) and will stimulate drawing investments and connected business ( producers/distributors of raw materials, materials, equipement/and services necessary to the implementation of the project’ the minister says.

At present, in the Maramures area there are no gas pipelines. Wood, coal and liquefied gas are  still used for heating residences, commercial spaces or socio-cultural units 

By the construction of the pipeline Sighetul Marmatie – Viseu de Sus – Borsa there are considered the premises of the interconnection iof the gas transport system from the North-West part of the country ( the Maramures consumption area) with the system from the North-Eastern part ( the Campulung Moldovenes –Vatra Dornei area), thus assuring the gas supply for each area in  two directions.

The Campulung Moldovenesc –Vatra Dornei pipeline is another objective acknowledged as of national importance, which is under way to be built with Transgaz and the pipeline Borsa –Vatra Dornei  wil supply gas for the respective areas from two directions and the balancing of the national system of gas transport.
