The government wants to give this year to the National Company for the closing down of mines in Valea Jiului Petrosani a state aid of 173.9 million lei ( 39 million euro) to facilitate the closing down of the non-competitive coal mines
The sums will be alloated completely from the state budget, according to a draft government decision.
Out of the whole su, 122,4 million lei will be sent to the covering of losses with coal production.
To support exception costs produced by the mines under the process of permanent closing down there will be given 51.5 million lei. Out of this sum, 9.5 million lei will be compesation payments, 9.8 million lei are facilities for the pensioners, and 4.1 million lei will be used for professional retraining.
For the effective closing down of the mines there will spent 28 million lei.
The substantiation note of the draft document mentions the fact that the mines to be closed down, by 2018 are Petrila, Paroseni and Uricani, all belonging to the National Company of Coal.
The coal extracted from the three mines is sold to one client, the Hunedoara Energy Unit.
