State gets 18.8 million euros from certificates on emission of gases with greenhouse effects
The state got over 18.8 million euros in April from the sale of certificates of gas emission with greenhouse effect on the joint EU tender platform, according to a document published on the site of the Public Finance Ministry (MFP). Over 3.3 million certificates worth 18.871 million euros were sold in April.
In January, MFP got 16.5 million euros from such certificates, in February 18.7 million euros and in March 17.9 million euros.
According to MFP data, the sale of such certificates within EU (EU Emission Trading Scheme- EU ETS) was applied in the first stage for the period January 1, 2005- December 31,2007, while the second stage was between 2008 and 2012, according to the first engagement stage of the Kyoto Protocol.
Romania has participated in the scheme since its accession to the European Union (January 1, 2007).
The third stage of EU ETS lasts for 8 years over Jnaury 1, 2013- December 31, 2020.
