Romanian-Dutch project on restoring Danube's floodmeadow

A joint project on restoring the flood-meadow of the Danube River, worth 289,393 euros, will be run by Romania and the Netherlands, announced spokesperson for the Administration of the Jiu River Basin Camelia Barbutu.The main purpose of the project is identifying the areas in the Danube's vicinity prone to flooding and coming up with solutions to recover the arable land, which has been affected since 2006 by flooding at high flow rates.
