Romania will pay to Russia 3,5 million dollars for waste storage from the research reactor

The National Authority for Scientific Research (ANCS) will pay the Russian Federation, next year, 3.5 million dollars for the final storage of radioactive waste resulting from the reprocessing of used nuclear fuel coming from the research reactor in Magurele. The nuclear reactor in Magurele, from the National Institute for Research and Development for Nuclear Physics and Engineering was stopped through a government decision of 2002, after functioning for a period of 40 years.
