Romania ranks 3rd among the best European countries for value for petrol

Romania comes in third place as the European country with the best value for petrol, according to Europe’s Fuel Price Index which has combined the average fuel prices for 29 countries in Europe with fuel consumption data to reveal the European country where you can drive the most distance and get the best value for money, romaniajournal.ro informs.

Drivers in Romania can travel 566 miles with GBP 50 worth petrol. Romania also ranks in 7th place for diesel.

Depending on which country you’re headed to – and whether you hire a petrol or diesel car – the distance you’re able to drive with GBP 50 worth of fuel in your tank could vary by up to 514 miles.

The new research commissioned by UK tyre fitting specialists Just Tyres shows that out of the 29 European countries analysed, Norway (392 miles) gave the shortest distance in Europe for GBP 50, followed by the Netherlands (403 miles), Italy (403 miles), Greece (409 miles) and Denmark.

Portugal (421 miles), France (427 miles), Finland (434 miles), Sweden (441 miles) and Ireland (455 miles) rounded out the top 10.

The top 5 locations you can travel the furthest with GBP 50 worth of petrol are: Bulgaria with 602 miles. followed by Poland (571 miles), Romania (566 miles) Hungary (544 miles) and Luxembourg (538 miles).
