Romania officially took over on Monday in Vienna the Presidency of the International Commission for the Protection of Danube River (ICPDR), the Ministry of Environment and Water Management informs in a release.State Secretary of Environment and Water Management of Romania, Lucia Varga, will serve as President during 2007 and will guide the activities of ICPDR, which was set up to coordinate the protection and improvement of the Danube and its tributaries.
