Romania finalised the National Network for the Monitoring of Air quality, made up of 142 units
Romania has at present, 142 fixed units for the monitoring of air quality in the whole country through the National Network for the monitoring of air quality, stated in a press conference Gratiela Gavrilescu, the minister for environment, waters and forests.
‘The minister of environment created at national level areas and evaluation zones for the evaluation of air quality, as follows 13 areas defined as areas with population over 250,000 inhabitants, and 41 areas as delimitations of the counties.
As regards measurements, we created and put to function the National Network for the monitoring of air quality, made up of 142 fixed monitoring units placed depending on the complexity and multitude of sources which influence the quality of the air in the area. The units are different types: traffic, industrial, urban, suburban, regional, EMEP’ Gavrilescu said.
Through modern measures, development, and implementation by town halls, will be able to establish the most efficient ways of reduction of pollution, and not last, by the observance of legislation by all possible factors, be it industry, constructions, traffic participants, we will manage to fight against the risks.(…).
