Project Agreement for the Institutionalisation of the European Energy Award in Romania
The State Secretariate for Economic Affairs of Switzerland and Romania's Government have signed on Thursday a Project Agreement for the Institutionalisation of the European Energy Award in Romania, a 411,765 CHF budget project, of which the Swiss grant is worth 350,000.
According to a press release, the project's goal is to create through an institutional partnership with a Swiss organisation, an entity (ROEEA) capable to nationally implement the concept of European Energy Award (EEA), in accordance with the European practices and procedures.
ROEEA will perform, among other things, support activities of the cities of Romania in administrating the policies in energy and climate changes fields, by using the EEA tools, facilitating of the international exchange of experience with European cities that actively implement policies in energy, facilitating of the partnerships between cities of Switzerland and Romania focusing on urbanisation and energy, and support with a view to consolidate the administrative capacity of the Romanian consultants and of the cities' management as regards the sustainable energy development.
European Energy Award is a qualified instrument to administrate and control the communal energy policy, which allows the city halls to identify the strong points, the weak ones and the potential to improve and effectively implement efficient energy measures.
