PRIMARY ENERGY RESOURCES INCREASED BY 1.8% DURING 1.I – 31.V.2017
- During 1.I – 31.V.2017, primary energy resources increased by 1.8%, while those of electricity decreased by 0.5% as compared to the same period of previous year.
The primary energy resources increased by 1.8 percent in the first five months of 2017, and the electricity resources declined by 0.5 percent compared to the same period of 2016, according to data released on Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The main primary energy resources in the period 1 January - 31 May 2017, totalized 13.779 million tonnes oil equivalent (toe), increasing by 242,400 toe compared to the similar period of 2016.
The domestic production amounted to 8.801 million toe, increasing by 143,400 toe compared to the same period of 2016, while the import stood at 4.978 million toe.
During this period, the electric energy resources stood at 29.069 billion kWh, declining by 134.3 million kWh as compared to the corresponding period of 2016.
The thermo power stations production stood at 12.097 billion kWh, increasing by 1.986 billion kWh (+19.6 percent).
The hydroelectric power stations production was 6.775 billion kWh, declining by 1.902 billion kWh (-21.9 percent), while the one of nuclear power stations was 4.562 billion kWh, dropping by 104.3 million kWh (-2.2 percent).
The production of wind power stations in the first five months of 2017 stood at 3.409 billion kWh, increasing by 470.0 million kWh compared to the same period of 2016, and the photovoltaic solar energy produced during this period stood at 745.2 million kWh, declining by 7.8 million kWh compared to the corresponding period of 2016.
The final consumption of electric energy during this period was 22.920 billion kWh, lower by 1.9 percent as against the corresponding period of 2016, the public lighting recorded a drop by 7.3 percent and the population consumption declined by 0.7 percent.
The electric energy export stood at 3.305 billion kWh, increasing by 248.7 million kWh, while the own technological consumption in networks and stations amounted to 2.844 billion KWh, increasing by 69.2 million kWh.
