President Iohannis met representatives of the ExxonMobil and OMV Petrom companies
President Klaus Iohannis met on Wednesday with representatives of the ExxonMobil and OMV Petrom companies; in this context, he voiced Romania's interest in putting at work its advantages in the energy industry, the Presidential Administration informed in a release.
According to the document, the meeting was held in the context of the association of the two companies to explore and exploit the natural gas resources in the Black Sea; the talks concerned the economic and investment perspectives of the ExxonMobil - OMV Petrom joint venture and the medium and long-term challenges to this project.
"President Klaus Iohannis reasserted Romania's major potential in terms of energy resources and the country's interest of putting at work its advantages in energy, in a sustainable and competitive way," the release reads.
The representatives of the two companies underscored the importance of fiscal and legislative stability and predictability, allowing the past and future investments in Romania's maritime areas to have a clear medium and long-term perspective.
There were mentions of the mutual advantages of exploring and exploiting the resources in the Black Sea, especially in the current geopolitical and economic context.
