PM Dancila: construction of Ungheni-Chisinau gas transmission pipeline remains a priority objective
Prime Minister Viorica Dancila reiterated on Thursday that Romania supports the European journey of the Republic of Moldova and one of the main investment objectives remains the construction of the Ungheni-Chisinau gas transmission pipeline.
"Romania firmly endorses the European journey of the Republic of Moldova and the joint investment projects, these being certain solutions for the welfare of the citizens of this state. Furthermore, we are carefully watching the commitments related to increasing energy security in the region and one of the priority projects is the construction of the Ungheni-Chisinau natural gas transmission pipeline," Dancila stated in the beginning of the Government sitting.
She mentioned that in the beginning of the week, the acquisition contract for the construction works of the administrative complex included in this project has been signed, pointing out that this aspect is the equivalent of the actual commencement of works on the investment objective.
"By the end of January offers are expected for the other lots of the project. We are talking about an investment worth 76 million euro," Dancila stated.
She commended the Economy Minister and Transgaz for this achievement.
"I have confidence that Minister Nicolae Badalau and Director Ion Sterian will make sure that the deadlines for the completion of the project will be observed," the PM concluded.
