Petrom shuts down Doljchim Chemical Works, lays off 1,000

Oil and gas company Petrom, held by Austrian-based OMV said it would permanently close its Doljchim Chemical Works plant by end-2010, after its decision to divest chemicals and petrochemicals operations.
