Over 47 million euros available to reduce carbon emissions in South-Eastern urban areas

Luminita Mihailov, the director of the Agency for South-Eastern Regional Development, announced on Tuesday in Galati, that the financial funds allocated on projects for carbon emission reduction in urban areas as part of POR 2014-2020 is over 47 million euros and projects can be sent over September 20, 2017 - March 20 2018.

“The financial allocation devoted to projects for the reduction of carbon emissions in urban areas, based on plans of durable urban mobility, within the Regional Operational Program 2014-2020, for the South Eastern area is 47,210,000 euros, the equivalent of 215,957,431 lei. The European Fund for Regional Development ensures 85% of project value, the state budget 13% and the applicant’s contribution is at least 2%, Mihailov said.

She pointed out that investments meant to improve public urban transport, such as transport means or infrastructure used for public transport services, investments meant for electric transport as well as other investments meant to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the urban area.

Projects can be sent as of September 20, 2017 until March 20, 2018.
