OMV Petrom signs transfer accord for nine reserves to Mazarine Energy

OMV Petrom, the largest energy company in South-Eastern Europe, concluded an accord for the transfer of licences for nine onshore crude and gas reserves in Romania to Mazarine energy Romania, a subsidiary controlled by Mazarine Energy BV.

The accord includes the transfer of drills and infrastructure and 100 employees to Mazarine Energy. The nine reserves, located in the Moinesti Zemes area, with a cumulated production of crude and gas of 1,000 bep/day, are part of the second package externalised in the program of upgrading Upstream portfolio.

These reserves represent 1% of the current OMV Petrom production.

The first round of upgrading the portfolio, which included 19 marginal reserves, was completed in August 2017 with the transfer of licences to Mazarine Energy.

OMV Petrom is the largest energy company in South-Eastern Europe, with an annual production of crude and gas of 61 million bep in 2017. The group has a refining capacity of 4.5 million tons/year and operates a high efficiency power plant of 860 MW.

The Group is present in Romania and in neighbouring countries by means of 790 gas stations, at the end of June 2018, under two brands, OMV and Petrom.

OMV Aktiengesellschaft, one of the largest industrial companies listed in Austria, owns 51.01% of OMV Petrom shares. The Romanian state, through the Ministry of Energy, owns 20,64% of OMV Petrom shares, Property Fund owns 9.9985% and 18.35% of shares are transactioned freely at BVB and London Stock exchange. OMV Petrom is the largest contributor to the state budget with 25.5 billion euro paid as taxes and dividends over 2005-2017.

More
