Natural gas, the main fuel in 2030 for the domestic energy production
Natural gas might become the main fuel in 2030 for the domestic energy production, with a share of 45 percent, followed by nuclear energy with 12 percent, according to the data of Romania's Energy Strategy 2016-2030 project, presented on Tuesday by Project Coordinator Radu Dudau at a specialist conference.
Therefore, the basic scenario for 2030 includes a production based on natural gas in proportion of 45 percent, nuclear - 12 percent, solid fuel (coal), oil and hydro - 7 percent each, wind and biomass - 6 percent each, and photovoltaic - 2 percent.
Currently from hydrocarbs (oil and gas) 15 percent of the national electricity production is ensured, according to the Transelectrica data. Coal produces approximately 30 percent of the total and hydro energy represents 25 percent.
