Natural gas, cooking oil and fuels, highest price increases in past year

Natural gas and cooking oil suffered the highest price increases in the past year, while the only reduction was noted in air transport services, according to data of the National Institute for Statistics (INS) published on Monday.

In the November 2020 - November 2021 interval, the prices for natural gas have increased by 49.42 pct, cooking oil - 28.17 pct and fuels - 25.55 pct.

In what regards food, in the past year the highest price increase was noted in cooking oil - 28.17 and potatoes - 22.55 pct, with no price decreases recorded.

On the other hand, since the beginning of this year, the price of cooking oil increased by 25.47 pct and potatoes by 19.61 pct, without price decreases recorded.

In the non-food items category, the past year saw the highest price increases in natural gas - 49.42 pct and fuels - 25.55 pct, without price decreases recorded.

Electrical energy saw price increases in November compared to the same month of last year and the start of the year by 8.14 pct, and compared to the previous month, the price decreased by 12.2 pct.

In the case of services, the highest increases were noted in other services (plus 7.01 pct), water, sewerage, sanitation (6.88 pct) and postal services (5.53 pct). Air transport services were cheaper by 0.94 pct.

Since the beginning of the current year, the highest increases in prices were recorded in water, sewerage, sanitation (7.09 pct), other service (7.02 pct) and postal services (5.53 pct). Air transport services were cheaper by 21.85 pct.

The annual rate of inflation dropped to 7.8 pct for November 2021, from 7.9 pct in October, given that non-food items recorded price increases of 10.49 pct, food items - 6.10 pct, and services - 4.09, according to data published on Monday by the National Institute for Statistics (INS).
