Iohannis: Oltenia Energy Complex cannot avoid upgrading and downsizing
President Klaus Iohannis said Friday in the southwestern city of Targu Jiu that the local Oltenia Energy Complex (CEO) cannot avoid upgrading and downsizing, because both are needed for it to continue operation.
Iohannis made the statement at a debate on political vision and public services in the service of the citizens for a strong Romania attended by local and county administration officials, local business people, directors of autonomous public organisations, professors, doctors and men of culture.
He said CEO has a very bright future, but it has to increase its efficiency and upgrade, insisting that the experience amassed in its history cannot but lend a solution to turn the complex profitable and operational in the long term.
He mentioned to the point his having sent Parliament for reexamination an energy law for reasons of unclear provisions.
"I am convinced normalcy will resume, and we will continue to choose our energy mix so that all the areas with high energy performance and tradition may continue operation," Iohannis concluded.
