Imported natural gas 10 pct cheaper from July through September
Romanian will import natural gas at 340 US dollars per 1000 cubic meters from July through September, which is 10.5 percent cheaper than the Q2 price, according to an estimate of the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE).
The document mentions that the April-June price was 380 dollars.
'The average import price used for ANRE's calculations for July-September is 1000 USD/1000 cubic meters, equivalent to 32.23 USD/MWh at a high heating value of 10.55 MWh/1000 cubic meters. The forecast used the exchange rate of June 24, namely 3.2374 lei/USD, and the resulting price used for calculations is 104.33 lei/MWh,' the document reads.
Moreover, the price of domestic natural gas for household and district heating is 53.30 lei/MWh, up 2.8 percent from 51.80 lei/MWh.
The gas transmission cost was evaluated for Q3 to 16.30 lei/MWh, up 20 percent from 13.5 lei/MWh in Q2.
The resulting average price of the imported and domestic natural gas pool, including the storage and transmission services will be 70.62 lei/MWh for households from July through September, up 4.3 percent from 67.68 lei/MWh in April-June.
