Gas imports down 18.2pct in first 11 months of 2017; production up 12pct
Romania imported, between January - November 2017, a quantity of 707,900 tones of oil equivalent (toe) usable natural gas, less by 18.2 percent (157,900 toe) than the quantity imported in the similar period of 2016, according to the centralized data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The domestic natural gas production exceeded 7.58 million toe in the mentioned period, increasing by 12 percent (812,000 toe) over the one recorded in the same period of 2016.
According to the project Romania's Energy Strategy, published on the Ministry's website, the annual production of natural gas is expected to decrease slightly, to an average of 9-10 million cubic meters in the period 2016-2030.
