ENGIE Romania buys operational photovoltaic park of 5.46 Mwp

ENGIE Romania announced on Thursday the purchase of an operational photovoltaic park with an overall installed capacity of 5.46 MWp, from a company owned by two German investors. The company operates now 113 MW of renewable energy in wind and photovoltaic capacities.

 

The photovoltaic park is located in the south of Romania, at Nenciulesti, Teleorman county. It was commissioned in 2014 and had produced 42 GWh, the equivalent of the annual electric energy consumption of 25,000 households,” ENGIE Romania wrote in a press release on Thursday.

 

According to the document, the purchase is a new step towards reaching the objective of developing the company portfolio for renewable energy installed capacity, both by organic growth and by purchases, after buying a 9.3 MW photovoltaic park in December last.

 

ENGIE Romania is now operating 113 MW of renewable energy in wind and photovoltaic capacities. Prior to this purchase, ENGIE was present in the local renewable energy market with two wind parks located in Braila and Galati counties and a photovoltaic park in Harghita county.

 

ENGIE group is present in Romania in three sectors of activity: natural gas, electric energy and energy services.

 

ENGIE Romania and its branches have a portfolio of 1.9 million customers, are operating a distribution network of 20,000 km, they own two wind parks and two photovoltaic parks with a total capacity of 113 MW and have 4,000 employees.
