Energy resources during 1.I.- 31.VIII. 2014 - provisional data -
According to the National Institute of Statistics (INS), during 1.I.-31.VIII.2014, the primary energy resources increased by 3.4%, while those of electric energy increased as compared to the same period of previous year, by 8.5 %. The main primary energy resources during 1.I.-31.VIII.2014, amounted to 20993.11 thousand tonnes oil equivalent 2 (toe), increasing by 682.2 thousand toe as against 1.I.-31.VIII.2013.
Domestic production amounted to 14554.9 thousand toe, increasing by 1.4% as against the same period of previous year, while imports amounted to 6438.2 thousand toe, increasing by 8.2%. During this period, electric energy resources amounted to 41772.2 million KWh, increasing by 3285.2 million
KWh (+8.5%) as against the corresponding period of 2013. The increase of electric energy resources was mainly due to increased domestic production, of 3401.1 million KWh (+8.9%).
The thermal power stations production amounted to 17198.0 million KWh increasing by 891.6 million KWh (+5.5 %). The hydroelectric power stations production was 12761.4 million KWh increasing by 1888.1 million kWh (+17.4%), while the production of nuclear power stations was 7637.6 million KWh decreasing by 47.0 million kWh (-0.6%).
