EnergMin Popescu announces launch of call for projects for energy production from renewable sources

 Minister of Energy Virgil Popescu announces the launch of the call for projects for the production of energy from renewable sources, with a budget of 457.700 million euros, for which applications can be submitted between March 31 and May 31, 2022.

"Very important announcement! We announce the launch of the call for projects for the production of energy from renewable sources (wind and solar), with a budget of 457,700,000 euros, financed through PNRR [the National Recovery and Resilience Plan]. Applications can be submitted between March 31 and May 31, 2022. We are coming with real solutions and the necessary financing. By carrying out the projects that can be financed under this aid scheme, the aim is to increase by approximately 950 MW the installed capacity to produce electricity from wind and solar energy, with or without integrated storage facilities. Making investments means long-term solutions for our country's energy security," the minister wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Energy, the Specific Guide, which can be accessed on the website of the Ministry of Energy, under the heading "European Finance - PNRR", aims to support investments in new capacities to produce electricity from wind and solar renewable energy sources, with or without integrated storage facilities, with a deadline for the completion of projects, respectively connection to the network - June 2024.

"This scheme based on the competitive bidding procedure applies only to new installations for the production of electricity from wind and solar renewable energy sources," the ministry said.

The State aid scheme based on the competitive bidding procedure is addressed to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as to large enterprises, including newly set up enterprises, established on the basis of Law no. 31/1990 regarding companies, republished, with the subsequent amendments and additions, or set up in accordance with the specific legislation of the Member State of which they are nationals.

The amount of state aid granted under the scheme per MW installed is, for wind energy, a maximum of 1.3 million euros for installed capacities between 0.2 MW (exclusive) and 1 MW (inclusive) and 650,000 euros for installed capacities higher than 1 MW, and for solar energy 750,000 euros for installed capacities between 0.2 MW (exclusive) and 1 MW (inclusive) and 425,000 euros for installed capacities higher than 1 MW.

The maximum aid that can be granted for an investment project cannot exceed 15 million euros per enterprise, per investment project.

Through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the Energy component benefits from an allocation of 1.62 billion euros, states the Energy Ministry.
