Enel Green Power connected to the grid the first photovoltaic stations owned in Romania
Enel Green Power (EGP) connected to the grid the first photovoltaic stations of the company in Romania. The two stations Berceni 1 and Berceni 2 are placed in Prahova county, with an total installed company of almost 19 MW. The units will generate almost 29 million kWh per year. The Berceni 1 has an installed capacity of almost 10 MW. The station can generate almost 15 million kWh per year, which corresponds to an annual necessity of over 7,500 households. Thus, over 6,800 tons of CO2 are no longer sent into the atmosphere every year.
Berceni 2 has an installed capacity of almost 9 MW. The unit can produce over 14 million kWh per year, which corresponds to an annual necessity of over 6,500 households. Thus over 6,500 tons of CO2 are no longer sent into the atmosphere each year.
Berceni 1 and Berceni 2 are the first photovoltaic units of Enel Green Power in Romania, the country where the company of the group Enel has an installed capacity of 498 MW in wind energy.
Enel Green Power is the company of the Enel group dedicated to the development and management of the renewable sources of energy at international level, with operations in Europe and America. In 2012, the company generated over 25 billion kWh from such sources as water, sun, wind and Earth heat – sufficient to satisfy the energy needs of almost 10 million households, thus avoind to send in the atmosphere over 18 million tons of CO2.
Enel Green Power is one of the world leaders in the domain, due to the balanced mix of energy generation, generating volumes over the average level in the sector. The company has an installed capacity of over 8,000 MW which comes from a mix of sources such as wind, sun, water, geothermal and biomass. At present, EGP owns over 700 operational units in 16 countries in Europe and America.
