Eleven companies interested in buying first new Black Sea offshore gas exploitation

There is high interest in the first new Black Sea offshore gas exploitation, by which the American company Carlyle, the biggest private equity stock administrator in the world and EBRD, stock holders of Black Sea Oil & Gas (BSOG) have in view the association with a third party or even sales Proft.ro writes.

 

Profit.ro announced in November, that Carlyle investment fund and EBRD had requested Romanian institutions to set up a data room of Midia Natural Gas Development project and that OMV Petrom was interested in accessing it for the potential purchase of the company.

 

Energy market sources declared for Profit.ro that eleven companies, among which OMV Petrom and Romgaz, had requested access to the data room, but not all companies were really interested in purchasing BSOG, some of them having in view just an association or are interested only information about reserves in the area.

 

The amount requested for the sales of BSOG is 800 million euros, Proft.ro sources say. 800 million euros is the amount asked for the participation of 70% held by BSOG in MGM project (the rest belongs to Petro Ventures Resources SRL – 20% and Gas Plus Dacia SRL – 10%).
