Economy Minister: gas storage are full, with about 3 billion cubic meters  in store

The Minister of Economy, Energy and Business, Virgil Popescu said on Friday that gas storage are full, the stored amount of about 3 billion cubic meters, but the maximum that can be extracted is 28 million cubic meters daily, which  can be a problem.

The official noted, however it was good that  enough gas is stored, but on the other hand, Depogaz should lay down a clear program of investment so as to increase extraction capacity.

In addition, he states that the manufacturer Elcen "is ready and has absolutely no problem" in providing heat for Bucharest. About the situation with the bankruptcy RADET he says is almost solved, including City Hall. The Minister also said that the energy sector  needs investment.

"The energy sector needs investment,  for new generation capacity, because we can not take over the system in its current form. The interconnectedness of import is 2,000 MW,it  is limited and on a cold winter it is not enough, given that we had a maximum of 1,800 some days ago.. Transelectrica and Transgaz must increase the degree of interconnection, "he said.
