EcMin, Enel officials examine prospects for company's developing investments in Romania
Romanian Economy Minister Varujan Vosganian and Enel company officials on Thursday discussed the prospects for the development of the Italian electricity company's investment programmes in Romania, the ministry said in a release.
Vosganian had a meeting with Enel international division president Carlo Tamburi, Enel country manager Luca D'Agnese and Enel Romania foreign relations manager Radu Cosarca, the release added.
The minister and Enel representatives also looked into the ways and means to smooth and improve the business climate amid the Italian concern's presence in Romania.
Thursday's event was part of a range of meetings with representatives of the foreign investors aimed at pinpointing the best approaches meant to develop the Romanian authorities' strategies for drawing foreign investments and boosting exports.
Enel has been acting in the Romanian market since 2005 and it is one of the most important private investors in the energy sector, with operations in electric power distribution and supply as well as in producing electricity from renewable resources. The company employs over 4,200 staff locally and offers services to 2.6 million clients in three major areas of Romania: South Muntenia (Bucharest included), Banat, in the west and Dobrogea (southeastern Romania), totalling nearly a third of the Romanian electricity distribution market.
