E&Y: Romania falls one position to 32nd in the ranking of countries investing in renewable energy
Romania fell one position to 32nd in the ranking of the countries that made investments in renewable energy, with assets exceeding 6 billion euros being invested, shows the quarterly report Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Index (RECAI) released by Ernst&Young on Monday.
"This setback is a result of an effort of the Romanian authorities to reconcile the positions of the energy consumers affected by the costs arising from the support scheme, of the investors who invested assets worth over 6 billion euros in this field and of the operators of electrical networks who must deal with an uncontrolled production capacity that changed the center of gravity of production in Romania and raised the losses of networks," explained Valeriu Binig, partner Energy Industry Leader, EY Romania.
