Court of Accounts compels Romgaz to recover 160 million lei prejudice from illegal gas sales
The Court of Accounts found out following investigation at Romgaz that the producer had sold gas of over 160 million lei disregarding the law. The court asked the company to recover the prejudice, as shown by the report summoning the General Assembly of Romgaz Shareholders on August 11.
“According to subjective and wrong interpretations of the law by auditors of the Court of Appeal, the decision compels Romgaz to take measures and recover money from various customers and commercial partners. That could take place only by legal procedures (the amount estimated by the Court exceeding 160 million lei)”, says the administrative complaint against the decision of the Court of Appeal.
Romgaz officials also say they would use all legal means at their disposal to defend their legitimate rights and interests, taking into account the fact that measures adopted by the Court could lead to significant losses and prejudices to the detriment of Romgaz patrimony.
