Accace: Romania is considered most active East European country in wind power field
Romania is considered the most active country in Eastern Europe when it comes to the newly installed production capacities in the wind power field, according to an analysis made by Accace, reads a release issued by the above-mentioned company.
The support given by the state for renewable energy drew massive investments in 2012, especially in the wind power field. This is why Romania became attractive for investors, reads the analysis mentioned before.
Romania aims to increase the percentage of energy produced from renewable sources of the total energy produced in economy, the target being 38 percent for the year 2020.
The Romanian State opted for the mechanism of the compulsory quotas of buying green certificates meant to promote the electric power produced from renewable sources. But Law 220/2008 also mentions such variants as aid for investments, tax exemptions or cuts, tax returns, promoting schemes for the obligation to buy the energy from renewable sources.
The green certificates are traded on the market of the bilateral contracts and on the centralized market, which is organized by the operator of the green certificates market. Taking into account the fact that the price of the green certificates is reflected in the price for the final consumer, till 2025 it can range between 27 and 55 euros/certificate. The lowest and highest values are annually indexed by the National Energy Regulatory Agency.
