11th Asia Gas Congress 2014

The 11th Asia Gas Congress will be held on May 29-30, 2014 in Beijing, China. The theme of this congress is meeting demand building in the tremendous transformation of the Asian gas market.

 

Asia is already home to the world's fastest-growing gas market and is expected to become the world's second-largest natural gas market by 2015 but has a long term dominated pricing system linked to oil which has raised serious questions about the sustainability of the system and its effects on Asian competitiveness, which needs changing is experiencing a tremendous transformation at present.

 

Asian consumption will almost triple, from 13.9 trillion cubic feet of the 2010 level to a whopping 36.3 trillion cubic feet in 2040. In particular, the developing economies China and India are expected to project the highest demand for gas. And accordingly, the role of governments is wanted to be instead of focusing on price regulation along the value chain, but maintain and supervise competitive market conditions.
