Trade: Study: Romanian spent more for clothes, books and IT products in first semester
The fashion segment, the book and teaching material segment next to IT products were in the first 6 months of the year the fields in which Romanians spent a lot of money through e-commerce, the average value of the purchase basket being 160 lei, a specialised analysis released on Tuesday shows.
According to the source, the biggest online purchase made by Romanians through the 2Parale site amounted to 33,000 lei, almost double compared to the same period of 2014, when 17,000 lei had been spent. The average value of the online purchase basket remained constant compared to last year, reaching 160 lei.
“Romanians buy online mostly in the first part of the day, the preferred period being 7 a.m.-12 p.m., followed by 1 p.m.-6 p.m.. In the first half of 2015, the peak time for online purchases was 7 p.m. The most favorable days for online purchases were Thursday, Wednesday and Tuesday. February 12, 2015 marked the absolute record of online purchases on 2Parale platform, according to the analysis made by 2Performant Network, a marketing performance company in Romania.
The fashion, books ,IT and teaching material segments are leaders in the top of profitable industries in the Romanian e-commerce. They are followed by home & decorations and and cosmetics.
Romanians spent about 1,000 lei for online purchases for tourist packages, about 630 lei for IT&C products , 220 lei for home& decorations items and 215 lei for child products.
On the other hand, the interest in dresses, followed by smart phones grew in the first part of 2015 according to Google Trends.
2Performant Network, a marketing performance company in Romania registered a business figure of 3.68 million lei, in the first semester, 2015, on the rise by 25% against 2014. 2Parale, the first and biggest affiliation network is part of the company.
