Trade: Study: 6 out of 10 Romanians will have at least one online acquisition on the mobile until the end of the year
Six out of 10 Romanians intend to have at least one online acquisition directly from the mobile phone until the end of this year, according to a study published on Monday and made by the online platform iVox.ro, at the request of the Cluj company Blugento, specialised in supplying e-commerce solutions.
The study shows the growing importance of the mobile phones in the process of online acquisition, as 4 out of 10 interviewees say that they make online acquisitions monthly, and 3 out of 10 use the mobile phone or the tablet for such acquisitions.
This major change of behaviour of consumption is not followed yet by the same reaction on the part of retailers draws attention the general manager of Blugento, Sandu Babasan.
‘Even so, almost half of the online shops are not prepared for mobile phones, which absolutely necessary to be competitive in this industry. And in an industry with such competition, not to have an online shop prepared for mobile phones, the most probably they lose a quarter of the sales’ stated Sandu Babasan in the press release.
According to the study, the smartphone has become extremely important for many Romanians 9 out of 10 interviewees stating that they have this gadget and over 80% of them access the website directly from the mobile phones.As for the categories of products acquired online from the mobile phones, the study shows that the first in the top of the Romanians’ preferences are clothes, followed by electronics, appliances and cosmetics.
Those who use the mobile phone for online shopping consider that they can make online tradings from the smartphone in a more accessible way, more comfortable and without any restrictions connected to time and location, according to the study. As for the sums spent usually, 5 out of 10 buyers who use the mobile phone make online orders with values between 100 and 500 lei.
