Trade: Online shops recorded dropping traffic to 25%, over February 24 – March 7
Online shop traffic dropped between 15% and 25% over February 24- March 7, compared to a normal period, a sign that Romanians are much more reserved in purchases and gave up impulse shopping, according to analysis made by a digital marketing agency.
The data centralized by Gun Media show that events in Ukraine generates drops in all sectors, and percentage are different, fluctuating according to brand maturity, but the dropping trends was clear.
The specialized analysis shows that in the reference period, there were increases of interaction and subject flow in social media about war topics, Google search volumes dropped, websites registered less traffic, while online purchases dropped to 15% against a normal period. At the same time, both the conversion rate and incomes dropped.
“We see an average increase of the number of purchases of 25% compared to 2021, some stores reaching up to 55% increase of online transactions. This evolution depended on brand maturity, communication consistency and invested budgets,” the eCommerce specialist says.
However, premises are optimistic and show an overall increase of the electronic trade in Romania, this year. “At the end of March we can see an average purchase increase of 20% compared to the same period of 2021. At the end of quarter 1, this year's premises are optimistic. Normally, the e-commerce market will continue to grow in 2022,” the specialist mentioned.
