Tourism: TUI TravelCenter opens five new locations in Romania this year and ten new agencies in 2022
The agency operating TUI franchise TUI TravelCenter in Romania, as part of Memento Group, announced its extension in five new localities this year, while in 2022 it will add ten new travel agencies in the most important cities in Romania. The decision was made as a result of the positive evolution of tourism of late, favored by relaxation of travel conditions in most tourist areas Romanians are interested in, like Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria or Spain.
“These expansion plans were made in the first part of 2020, but were put to rest in the pandemic context that affected the entire economy. The positive evolution of tourism in recent months favored by the relaxation of travel conditions in most tourist areas of interest for Romanians such as Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria or Spain, determined us to resume and accelerate the expansion rate of our project,” said Stefan Joos, recently appointed general manager of TUI TravelCenter, who has an experience of over 16 years in local tourism.
The vacations most sought by Romanians are sojourns by charter flights, followed by cultural circuits, holidays in Romania and exotic sojourns, on the rise even in pandemic conditions, when an important number of Romanian tourists traveled to Zanzibar, Maldives, Dominican Republic or Seychelles.
In these conditions, agencies try to offer more varied and complete packages.
“TUI has great expansion plans for this year in Transylvania and even set up its main headquarters in Brasov. In 2022 it will add another ten new travel agencies in the most important cities in Romania,”company representatives say.
“The imminent inauguration of Brasov International Airport gives us impulse for the development of the agency network and the possibility of having direct charter flights from Brasov as soon as possible,” Joos added.
