Tourism: eSky.ro Analysis: Romanians' Spring Weekend Getaways
According to a study made by eSky.ro in collaboration with GfK research agency, Romanians are likely to choose city breaks rather than longer vacations. 54% of respondents in Romania say they would go on a city break – 9% more than those who chose holidays. Romanians will plan, 1.7 city breaks on the average, compared to 1.4 longer vacations.
The top of most popular destinations among eSky.ro customers begins with a favourite constant – Italy. Most often Romanian tourists choose Rome and Milan, but this year the popularity of other Italian cities less visited by Romanians has increased.
They are Venice, Naples, Bologna and Pisa. The next in top 5 destinations for spring city breaks is Spain, with Barcelona and Madrid, as well as Valencia and Mallorca. Then there is France, where Romanians prefer Paris, then Nice and Marseille. They are followed by Greece (Athens) and Turkey (Istanbul).
