Tourism : Economy Minister: Romania should strengthen partnership with Greece
Economy, Trade and Tourism Minister Mihai Tudose believes Romania should use the situation in Greece and strengthen the partnership with this country.
"I believe we shall have to use the situation in Greece and tighten the relations with Greece. We are strengthening the partnership we have with the Greek. (...) Tourism in Greece has never been based on an open bank or on an ATM. Tourism will function without problems and I believe it will be one of the main decisive factors for Greece's coming out of the crisis," Mihai Tudose commented the situation in Greece.
He pointed out that for now only speculations are being made about what will happen after the referendum on Sunday in which the Greek had to decide if their country accepts or rejects the agreement proposed by the international creditors (the European Central Bank, the EU, the International Monetary Fund) in Greece.
"It is a democratic expression of a country. Things are very exacerbated as if the Greek established by referendum whether they pay the debts or not. Things aren't exactly like this. They voted whether or not they agree with the plan proposed by the European or international financial authorities. Here the answer was 'no'. I understand that now the Greek Government is working on another modality to pay its debts," the Economy Minister explained.
