Tourism: Demand for holidays over 1,000 euros/family, higher than in 2016
În 2017, the demand for holidays with budget over 1,000 euros per family is by a third higher than last year, while sales of all inclusive packages at five star hotels have grown by 15%. Destinations for which these holidays were bought are Spain, Greece, Romania, etc.
Sales for summer holidays are growing by 20% compared to the same period of 2016, most of them being bought in the early booking period. Other top sales were made in the week before school holidays, when packages from last minute campaigns for trips and sojourns with departures from Bucharest, Cluj Napoca, Timisoara and Iasi were bought for Greece, Spain, Turkey, Croatia, Portugal, Italy and Cyprus. Mosy tourist packages were between 1,200 and 1,600 euros/family, according to a press release made by Paralela 45 travel agency.
Charter destinations in demand this summer are Greece (+23%), Spain (+20%), Turkey (+18%), Portugal (+10%), followed by Croatia and Italy.
Destinations with personal transport are Romania, Bulgaria, Greece or the Ionic coast, Olympus Riviera and Aegean Sea islands, Albania and Montenegro.
